Will pressure washing damage my wooden deck?
It can, in the wrong hands. Too much pressure furs up the wood grain and leaves permanent wand marks that show through any stain applied afterwards. Decks want low pressure combined with the right cleaner, working with the grain. If a deck is being cleaned prior to staining, how it is washed directly affects how the stain looks.
How long does washing a house take?
Most single-family homes are a same-day job. Larger properties, heavy algae growth, or homes with a lot of intricate trim take longer because the detail work is what makes the difference. Adding a driveway, patio or deck extends it, and we will tell you upfront whether it is one visit or two.
Do I need to move cars, furniture and grills?
Yes please — anything within reach of overspray should be moved clear, including vehicles, patio furniture, grills and potted plants. Also close all windows and doors fully. We will do a walk-round before starting and point out anything that still needs shifting.
Will water get in around my windows?
Not with correct technique. Water is directed downward and across rather than forced up under siding laps or into window seals. Where an older window has failed seals or missing caulk, water can find its way in regardless — if we spot anything questionable during the walk-round we will flag it before we start.
Can you clean fences and retaining walls?
Yes. Fences pick up algae fast on the shaded side, and retaining walls collect moss and efflorescence. Both respond well to cleaning, and both are frequently forgotten until the rest of the property is clean and they suddenly look terrible by comparison.
What is the green film on the shaded side of my house?
